    We have an immediate opening in Attica for a Machine Operator with a minimum of 3 years of previous experience; 5 years of experience preferred. Preferred candidates will also have proven experience in preventative and regular maintenance. Successful candidates must demonstrate a solid and successful work history relevant to the job description.     The Machine Operator is responsible for safely performing machine setups to start the production cycle and as needed when the production schedule demands. Incumbent must also control and adjust the functions and settings of machines and will be responsible for ensuring products meet our quality standards with regard to assembly specifications.

    Responsibilities

    1. Perform machine setups (calibration, cleaning etc.) to start a production cycle and as needed when the production schedule demands.
    2. Control and adjust the functions and settings of machines (e.g. speed)
    3. Feed the necessary raw material or parts to semi-automated machines
    4. Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools to ensure they meet requirements
    5. Test the operation of machines periodically to guarantee their smooth running
    6. Fix issues that might occur during the shift
    7. Check output to discover any machine-related mistakes or flaws
    8. Keep records of approved and defective units or final products
    9. Maintain activity logs by entering production data into Epicor system
    10. Perform preventative and regular maintenance on machines to ensure that their operational life is extended
    11. Participate in 5S activities daily
    12. Participate in TFPS initiatives

    Qualifications

    1. High School Diploma or GED; technical degree preferred
    2. Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
    3. Understanding of production procedures (e.g work instructions, lockout/tagout procedures, set up procedures, job traveler, etc.)
    4. Working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurement tools (caliper, micrometer etc.)
    5. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
    6. Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
    7. Analytical and problem solving skills
    8. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts desired
    9. Compliance with all health and safety regulations, policies and procedures
    10. Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals
    11. Attention to detail
