Tru-Flex has an immediate opening for a Process Engineer in West Lebanon, IN.


The process engineer position is responsible for determining and documenting materials and operations to produce products and develops processes to ensure quality, cost and efficiency requirements are met. This position troubleshoots problems with production and works independently, with quality and/or with the continuous improvement leader to take corrective action. The process engineer may also participate with Corporate Manufacturing Excellence to research the purchase of equipment or upgrades to existing equipment.


Essential Functions

  1. Evaluate, implement and monitor processes and operating systems for the manufacture of Tru-Flex products.
  2. Support the conversion of prototype processes into commercially viable production operations.
  3. Create/edit/maintain necessary documentation – including within MRP/ERP systems.
  4. Maintain responsibility for bills of material, MRP routings, and other APQP launch activities
  5. Monitor and improve the efficiency, output and safety of manufacturing processes through observations and measurements as well as by collecting and interpreting data from other technical and operating personnel.
  6. Develops and maintains communications in a cooperative and professional manner with all levels of staff and customers using established guidelines.
  7. Manages technical aspects of committees and working groups.
  8. Participates in development of new products and processes, modification of existing products and processes and termination of ineffective products and processes.

  • Minimum of a Four-year college degree (B.S. in Engineering, Engineering Technology or a related field)
  • up to 10 years of related work experience required
  • Process orientation including the application APQP
  • Critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills
  • Use of software tools such as Office and Epicor
  • Must have a valid driver’s license

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities, but may lead working groups.


Physical Summary

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use his/her hands, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, talk or hear. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Hearing capacity required to maximize ability to understand all verbal communication and react accordingly.
