One of every two semi-tractors on the road today contains a Tru-Flex product. Additionally, with concerns for air quality growing, many off-highway machines contain our innovative, emission-controlling flexible hoses. From our engineered product line that includes patented products such as zero-leak torsional bellows, zero-leak Power Flex® and TFL-SSS, to standard strip-wound interlock hoses, our capability to manufacture engineered exhaust components is endless. Tru-Flex is also well represented in other industries that count on flexible hoses to contain, control, protect, or transfer a variety of materials. Those products include crush-proof hoses for moving grains, plastic pellets, wood chips, and other dry materials; heat-resistant ductwork and chimney liner; and flexible hoses that protect less durable tubing or electronics. We do it all.


Tru-Flex has an opportunity for an EXPERIENCED R&D Engineer. The R&D Engineer is responsible for providing research and development and general engineering support for the company and its customers.


  1. Provides customer Road Load Data Acquisition/Durability Testing and data analysis
  2. Interprets test results and evaluates appropriateness of the part, recommend design changes accordingly
  3. Aids in set up and troubleshooting by testing machinery and equipment in research and development Lab
  4. Designs lab tests to study a specific trait of interest, including temperature and fatigue
  5. Provides prototype/specialty part manufacturing and quality support
  6. Utilizes CAD software to create manufacturing fixtures for prototype and/or low volume assemblies
  7. Develops simulation models to predict stiffness, heat transfer, vibration, and fatigue characteristics
  8. Uses FEA software and other mathematical models to simulate parts and assemblies
  9. Travel as needed to other company facilities, and customer locations

***Travel to West Lebanon 2 to 3 times per week for an initial training period, and then as needed afterwards.


Requirements (Consider the required knowledge, skills, abilities, behaviors, and/or equipment)

  1. BS/BA degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  2. 1+ years’ experience in Research and Development as well as testing in a manufacturing environment
  3. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, CAD software, and FEA software
  4. Knowledge of standard mechanical design and manufacturing practices
  5. Must present professionally and be a good listener wiath strong verbal and written communications skills.
  6. Strong problem solving and decision making skills
  7. Ability and wllness to travel both domestically and internationally
